First listen I wasn’t too sure. I’ve heard some of his stuff before and liked it so I wanted to give this a few listens. Having done that I’ve grown to really like this album. His biting lyrics make for excellent storytelling. I love the irony, witty observation and frank honesty.
Really like Aylesbury Boy; great lyrics and the drum beat is very cool. I’m going to learn it, it’s probably my favourite track on the album. Other favoured tracks are Celebrate Me, Leon and Crowded Rooms – but my other real favourite is Glows, the final track. So tender and beautiful. Listen loud on repeat with headphones. Simply gorgeous.
