Tried as I might, I just can’t relate to this album. It is inoffensive, pretty safe and musically skilful but I can’t imagine myself listening to it again.
Strangely there are underlying elements of the sound I do quite enjoy given there are hints of Flaming Lips & Edward Sharpe, and this is nice, but this doesn’t really go anywhere and actually sounds a quite dated.
However, not one of the tracks really jumps out at me and grabs my attention – its all a bit one level for me whereas I was expecting for a touch more.
Connexion is the one track that I would rate on here as one that might hold my interest but the others wash over me.
One for my archive I think. 5/10
