Having previously heard a couple of Nilüfer’s tracks before it was a nice surprise to be presented with the new album.
Her voice is soothing and washes over me like gentle wave of warm water. The music is catchy and relevant, the lyrics touching and sometimes biting.
Some of the rhythms are very Yorke/Greenwood in a Smile sort of way and I like that – her vocals work very well against that backdrop. Maybe, some of the tracks become a bit too similar after a few listens but there is plenty here to make me want more.
This is a very accomplished album by a super talented singer songwriter who, coupled with Wilma Archer, has provided me with the perfect holiday soundtrack while I lie back in Catalunya enjoying some late summer sun!
A keeper for sure!
