The Fierce and The Dead – News From The Invisible World

I played this album in the car on my way to and from work very LOUD. Liked most of it a lot although a couple of tracks fell flat for me.

Although TFATD are billed as Prog Rock I really don’t think of them like that. I heard all sorts of influences in there from heavy rock to indie guitar tunes.

Best tracks for me were Shake the Jar (elements of Jane’s Addiction), Golden Thread (a touch of Rage ATM) and Non-Player (Radiohead-esque guitar and almost Blur-like vocals). Other tracks I wasn’t so keen on. But overall, great.

8.5/10
