An admission first, I’m a child of the prog rock era so this is right in my psyche.
Brought back memories of many gigs in the cavernous Southampton Guildhall with Yes, Genesis, Supertramp etc. Vocally setting the scene with Georgio Morricone overtones I was ‘in’. The expected full sound including the inevitable progressions with rolling drums and crashing cymbals soon followed.
Then suddenly with ‘Photogenic Love’ they moved into electronic 80’s 3 minute power pop song mode.
An album not for everyone I’m sure but for me it is in my musical DNA with an interesting twist.
No particular standout track for me as this is ‘an album’.
A biased 9/10 from me.
